“At Risk Newborn” Care & Follow Up Resources

A Program for identification, evaluation, early stimulation, intervention & monitoring of NICU graduates at risk for developmental problems. 

With better and advanced neonatal care; improved survival rates are seen in all gestations from preterm to post term, very low birth babies to large for gestational age and from common to critical illnesses. But all the efforts and concerns remain only for improving survival rate and not beyond it. Are these infants surviving with intact functional abilities to live a quality life? One intervention which has several significant advantages in long term outcome of these babies is – Neurodevelopmental follow up and early stimulation. Early assessment and stimulation program for all “at risk” babies is definitely more rewarding than waiting for neurodevelopmental disability to appear and then starting intervention.
